🌿 JUST RELEASED! Introducing MediHerb GLP-1 Bitter Complex
Meet the NEW MediHerb GLP-1 Bitter Complex — a research-informed herbal formula designed to support healthy appetite regulation, satiety, and digestion.
Have you been hearing all the buzz about GLP-1 lately?
Most people associate GLP-1 with prescription weight-loss medications like Ozempic and Wegovy. But did you know that your body naturally produces GLP-1, and that certain herbs may help support the body’s own appetite and fullness signaling pathways?
I’m excited to introduce a NEW product from MediHerb:
GLP-1 Bitter Complex — a practitioner-grade herbal supplement designed to support healthy satiety, appetite regulation, and digestive function.
🌱 What Is GLP-1, and Why Is It Important?
GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) is a hormone naturally released by your intestines in response to eating.
It plays an important role in:
- Helping your brain recognize when you’ve eaten enough
- Supporting feelings of fullness and satisfaction after meals
- Slowing stomach emptying as part of normal digestion
- Supporting healthy blood sugar and insulin regulation
- Helping regulate appetite and food intake
Your digestive system also produces two other important hormones, CCK (cholecystokinin) and PYY (peptide YY), which work alongside GLP-1 to help regulate hunger, fullness, and digestion.
Together, these hormones help your body communicate when it’s hungry and when it’s satisfied.
🌿 How Does GLP-1 Bitter Complex Work?
MediHerb’s new formula combines two concentrated, standardized herbal extracts:
Hops (Humulus lupulus)
Hops contains naturally bitter compounds called alpha and beta acids. These compounds interact with bitter taste receptors throughout the digestive tract and have been studied for their potential effects on appetite-regulating hormones and food intake.
Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium)
Feverfew contains bitter constituents, including parthenolide. Traditionally used in Western herbal medicine, it complements the formula’s bitter digestive-support properties.
Here’s what makes this interesting:
Bitter taste receptors aren’t just on your tongue. They’re also located throughout your gastrointestinal tract!
When stimulated by certain bitter plant compounds, these receptors may influence the body’s natural digestive and satiety-signaling pathways, including those involving GLP-1, CCK, and PYY.
The goal is to support your body’s natural fullness signals — not artificially replace them.
✨ Potential Benefits of GLP-1 Bitter Complex
This new herbal formula is designed to help:
- Support healthy appetite regulation — encouraging normal hunger and fullness signaling.
- Promote satiety after meals — supporting that satisfied feeling after eating.
- Support natural GLP-1, CCK, and PYY pathways — important hormones involved in appetite and digestion.
- Promote healthy digestive function — drawing on the traditional use of bitter herbs as digestive tonics.
- Complement healthy weight-management efforts — when combined with appropriate nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and lifestyle habits.
This is not a prescription GLP-1 medication, and it should not be expected to produce the same effects or weight-loss results. Instead, it’s a botanical approach to supporting your body’s existing physiological pathways.
🔬 What Does the Research Say?
One particularly interesting study was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2022.
Researchers conducted a randomized, crossover clinical trial investigating a hops extract in healthy-weight men.
The study found that the hops extract influenced gut peptide hormone secretion and reduced energy intake under the study conditions.
This is exciting because it provides preliminary human evidence that specific bitter compounds from hops may influence appetite-related signaling.
An important distinction: This study investigated a hops extract, not the finished MediHerb GLP-1 Bitter Complex formula. More research is needed to determine the finished product’s effects on appetite, long-term weight management, and metabolic outcomes.

💊 How Do You Take GLP-1 Bitter Complex?
MediHerb recommends gradually introducing the product so your digestive system has time to adjust.
Week 1: Take 1 softgel daily, 30–60 minutes before your main meal.
Week 2: Increase to 2 softgels daily, taking 1 before each of your two main meals.
Week 3 and beyond: If well tolerated, increase to 3 softgels daily, taking 1 before each main meal.
Only increase your dose when you’re comfortable with the previous level. Your individual protocol may differ based on your health history and needs.
Taking it before meals allows the bitter compounds time to reach the small intestine, where they can interact with bitter taste receptors.
Some people may experience temporary digestive discomfort, nausea, or loose stools when starting. If this happens, do not increase your dose, and contact your healthcare professional if symptoms persist.
🥗 My Clinical Nutrition Perspective
After more than 20 years in clinical practice, one thing I consistently emphasize is that there is no single supplement that replaces a healthy foundation of nutrition and lifestyle habits.
Supporting your body’s natural GLP-1 function involves much more than taking a capsule.
I encourage my patients to focus on:
- Eating adequate protein at meals
- Including fiber-rich vegetables, fruits, legumes, and whole foods
- Incorporating healthy fats, especially omega-3-rich foods
- Getting regular physical activity, including strength training
- Prioritizing restorative sleep
- Managing chronic stress
- Supporting digestive health and a balanced gut microbiome
GLP-1 Bitter Complex may be a useful addition to an individualized wellness program, particularly for adults looking for additional support with appetite regulation and feeling satisfied after meals.
